I wanted to give you an “excerpt from the book, The Destiny Discovery: Find Your Soul’s Path to Success
….”Destiny should not be confused with circumstance, coincidence, or even destination. Those are outcomes of being our Destiny. The experience of destiny reflects the quest for self-actualization – the fulfillment of one’s design or purpose. One cannot reach his full life potential by sitting and waiting for it; this sort of destiny can only be reached through decision and determined action.
Have you noticed that dreams by their very nature lie just out of our reach; and most people will fail to build the staircase that leads to their own version of heaven on earth.
As Shakespeare said, “It is not in the stars that hold our destiny but in ourselves.” The experience of day-to-day destiny often means taking our scars and making them stars, even becoming master alchemists that can skillfully transform all of life’s trials and tribulations into golden thread from which to weave our higher destiny.
For me, the experience of destiny comes from 1). Using Choice of your free will 2). Engagement with Grace & divine will. This is why each of us has a unique journey to knowing and living our destiny because we have to develop a very intimate relationship with ourselves and our inner guidance.
We are also given ample opportunities to connect with those who can lead us further along our path, these people are “divine appointments.”
The cast of characters here on earth are all perfectly prepared to assist, challenge, and sometimes torment us—all for the benefit of our soul’s evolution.
Many would claim that we volunteer for these roles prior to our incarnation. So that is why a spiritual teaching advises you to kiss the feet of the person who troubles you the most, for he is your greatest teacher.
The experience of Destiny comes from knowing who you are, what you desire, how you can serve, and being in alignment with the Universe so you can receive the “treasure” that is waiting for you.
Ironically, our most prized treasure is in places we fear to look, in territories we avoid visiting. And that is why many of us fail to find what we are looking for.
Let’s explore this further…..Joseph Campbell said, “The treasure you seek is in the cave you fear to enter.” Take a client of mine, Sarah, a young and vivacious professional, who feared true intimacy and continually attracted relationships with emotionally unavailable men.
In her heart, she wanted love very much, but her limited self would not allow her the vulnerability to be with the one person in her life that could give her what she really wanted. This treasure showed up in a good friend but she could not see what was right in front of her eyes. She identified him as “only a friend” and even when she did see the potential that he might be the “one,” she would not take the step forward to find out.
Thus, most human beings are looking for themselves where they are not–and end up in detours that look like ill-fitting jobs, out-grown relationships, worn-out beliefs. We are so busy constructing a life around us that we never stop to consider if the life we are creating actually aligns with our heart’s deepest desires. And that lack of mental discipline will lead to a default life full of a lot of what you don’t really want.
The same is true for Destiny. Destiny wants what you want from life.
In truth, you and Destiny are One. You are on the same dance team!
We have to learn to give up our illusionary sense of control and start to “feel our way” to the beat of our heart, which knows what is meaningful for us to experience.”
I hope you enjoyed this “sneak peek” into the book that will Change Your Life for the Better!
