The RX for Your Soul Ache–Part II

We are continuing to look at that common “soul ache” that comes before making the choice to leave the life you have known and venture into the unknown of greatness.
Have you ever wondered:
Why Do We do What We do and fail to do What We Could Do?
I have discovered three main reasons:
1. Our social programming, personal beliefs and perceptual filters. We follow the Personal Operating System (P.O.S.) that was installed when we were growing up.

2. To look good. We take on roles, positions, and even careers to look good to ourselves and others. We often are driven by external motivators such as status, money or prestige.

3. To Feel better. We follow our P.O.S. and make life choices that reflect us in our best light to make ourselves feel better. We simply do not truly know our own divine worth and value and so will construct an acceptable “persona” to alleviate the pain of being separated from our Source.

Of course, we can never get over this pain, until we remember our own divinity and that our light is the light of the Creator.
Think of this like a sugar high. We indulge in the cookie and for a few moments feel contentment and pleasure. Likewise, living in this ego-created way leads to an accumulation of discontent. And like a hungry child, we will eat the whole bag looking for satisfaction that never seems to come and stay. We gobble the cookies up (or the money or the lovers or insert your particular vice here) in hopes we can alleviate the “missing” that is in our heart. What we truly want is to be fulfilled and to be filled up with inspiration and meaning and to know and live our purpose.
